Although he’s never been exactly effusive, his temperament got decidedly worse after the woman he loved left him standing at the alter. Meanwhile, Park Do Kyung is a taciturn, ill-tempered but brilliant sound director for movies and TV. However, when out of nowhere she strides home and tells her family that she has decided to call off her wedding the day before its meant to take place her prospects take an embarrassing turn for the worse. They grew up in the same neighborhood, went to the same school, and ended up going into the same industry.īut things seem to be looking up for our OHY, when she is about to marry a handsome business man with a booming new company. And what’s more, our Oh Hae Young can’t seem to get out of her shadow. The other Oh Hae Young (Jeon Hye Bin) has everything that our’s seems to lack: beauty, popularity, success in her career. Oh Hae Young Again (aka Ddo Oh Hae Young, Another Miss Oh and a couple other variants) chronicles the struggles of our Oh Hae Young (played by Seo Hyun Jin) as she moves through life constantly and unfavorably compared to another woman of the same name. The interest is never higher than immediately after a drama ends, and yet it sometimes takes me a while to let things percolate and decide where I really stand. That’s the trouble with writing these review fresh off of finishing the drama. But that’s subject to change over the next couple weeks and months. I did some soul searching and I decided that I feel more overall happy with Oh Hae Young Again and the way it ended than disappointed. But it lost that addictive quality somewhere along the line.

This show had me on the hook from the first episode. But there was something–something I read, a gif I saw, an early episode reaction–that pulled me in when I had no intention of watching it.

I didn’t know any of the main actors involved in more than a passing kind of way, I wasn’t immediately allured by early plot summaries. It didn’t possess the usually enticements that get me to watch an airing drama. If you knew me and the obsessive way that I plan my drama watching schedule and the effort that I put into being on top of upcoming drama news and stalking the careers of my favorite actors (a category that has grown from just a handful of names to a nearly unmanageable horde), then you would know that Oh Hae Young Again was kind of an unusual case.
